London, UK – FAB UK Productions proudly launched its latest creative project, Moving Image Tottenham, with a premiere screening on Wednesday, 16 April 2025 at Crouch End Picturehouse. The event marked the completion of the project’s first phase: seven short films, created by seven directors, all set in a small café on West Green Road in Tottenham, Haringey.
The initiative, with five of the films sponsored by Haringey Council, brought together 86 local creatives, showcasing the vibrant talent within the borough through diverse, original storytelling.
The seven featured films and their directors include:
GOOD ADVICE – Abdel Belabbes
BIRTHDAY – Ander Da Silva
FULL ENGLISH – Cem Kaplan
NOTHING FOR GRANTED – Christopher Brosnahan
LA LAGUNA NEGRA – Kieran McGrath
THE KNIGHT – Leyand Palmer
THE PHOTO ALBUM – Nikol Anastasiou & Andy MacKinnon
Cem Kaplan, CEO and Founder of FAB UK Media, and one of the participating directors, shared:
“Over the past few months, we brought together 86 incredible creatives, mostly local to Haringey, to make seven short films. It all started in a small café — Café Lemon — where each director faced the challenge of filming a complete short in just eight hours, with limited budget and daylight. Despite the odds, every team delivered something truly special.”
“We are incredibly grateful to Haringey Council for their belief in the project, and to the Crouch End Picturehouse for supporting our local creative community by attending the screening. With Haringey recently named the London Borough of Culture for 2027, we feel it’s our duty to continue building on this momentum and prove that the title is well deserved.”
The screening drew a full house, with over 100 attendees, many of whom left asking when the next instalment would be released.
Looking ahead, Moving Image Tottenham plans to expand into more local cafés and restaurants — creating new short films that not only spotlight local talent, but also celebrate the area’s rich and diverse food culture.
This is just the beginning of a long-term vision from FAB UK to make Tottenham a hub for creativity, culture, and community-led storytelling.
